Automating Reputation Management

Like all tools, automation can be helpful in reputation management if used correctly. Automating the wrong processes or in the wrong way can also be harmful in reputation management. Today we received a question from a client who wants to help in the process.

I have some SEO tools that I used a few years ago, can I use these automated tools to help with my reputation management campaign?

While I applaud your enthusiam to help, please don’t. There has been a lot of talk about negative SEO lately and without a long term (6+ months) test, it’s impossible to know if negative SEO is true or not. If negative SEO is to be believed then certain links might hurt your website more than it helps.

If my assumption is correct, you probably purchased Scrapebox and maybe one or two other tools. Scrapebox is most often the tool that is used when people are testing negative SEO since it creates blog comments which are generally frowned up.

One way to use automation in SEO is to build links to your links. A link will gain strength based on the amount of incoming links (among other things). We will often use a number of tools to boost the strength of the links we create for you including GSA. Please also note that if negative SEO is possible, you shouldn’t build a massive amounts of links to your website without having tested those links first. For a company that does testing, we recommend DiamondLinks.net link building service.

There are other forms of automation that can simplify your daily life such as turning your computer on and off at certain times, and we’re all for that kind of automation as often as possible!
